Choosing the Right Website Platform for Your B2B Business

The right website platform depends on what your site needs to do — not what is most popular.

Squarespace and Wix are good for simple sites with no custom needs. They are fast to set up and easy to manage. The trade-off is limited control over performance and SEO.

WordPress is the most flexible option. It can do almost anything, but it requires upkeep. Plugins break. Updates create conflicts. If you have no one to manage it, WordPress can become a liability.

Custom builds — Next.js, Gatsby, and similar frameworks — are best for sites that need performance, SEO control, or complex integrations. They cost more up front, but they do not come with the overhead of a CMS.

For most B2B companies: if your site is a lead generation tool and you need SEO performance, a custom build is worth the investment. If your site rarely changes and SEO is not a priority, a hosted platform works fine.
